SYRACUSE, N.Y. — The weekend as a whole was mostly warm with highs in the 80s, partly sunny and increasingly humid. A few hit or miss thundery downpours did interrupt a handful of towns and villages Sunday, but many areas saw no rain whatsoever.
The summer pattern we’ve experienced over the weekend will be changing over the next couple of days. One day in particular will have cooler than average temperatures and above average rainfall and that will be Wednesday.

Here is the “how” and “why” behind the change in our summer weather pattern. An area of low pressure currently over the Midwest will dive south through the Ohio River Valley and eventually track east across Pennsylvania and New Jersey Tuesday into Wednesday.
