SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Shortly before Onondaga County lawmakers are expected to talk about a lawsuit surrounding the debate over whether County Executive Ryan McMahon actually approved a term limit referendum he meant to veto, McMahon announced that he would support the referendum after all– but for next year, and with a catch.
Under McMahon’s proposal, the 2027 ballot would have two questions: whether to limit the county executive and comptroller to three consecutive terms, and whether to limit them to four consecutive terms.
If a majority of voters approve of both versions, McMahon said, the one with the most support would become law…
