TOWN OF GEDDES, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A Syracuse firefighter has been arrested, accused of raping a 15-year-old girl in the Town of Geddes, detectives state in court paperwork obtained by News Channel 9.
Investigators from the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office said 25-year-old Jeremy Warters had sexual contact with the girl on Tuesday, July 28.
The Syracuse Fire Department confirmed to NewsChannel 9 | LocalSYR that Warters is an employee. Chief Michael Monds said Warters was not on duty as a firefighter when the crimes are alleged to have happened. He’s been suspended pending the outcome of a criminal investigation.
Until 2025, Warters previously worked as a coach at The Warrior Factory in Camillus, a Ninja training facility and obstacle park. Warters competed on NBC’s American Ninja Warrior in 2022.Police arrested Warters on Tuesday, just hours after the alleged incident, then arraigned him and released him from custody.
