ALBANY — A lawsuit filed recently in state Supreme Court accuses New York’s Department of Environmental Conservation of fast-tracking permitting approval for semiconductor company Micron Technology’s sprawling manufacturing facilities in Onondaga County, without properly considering the possible environmental impact.
The ongoing work at the $100 billion complex of fabrication plants, or “fabs,” aims to manufacture dynamic random-access memory semiconductors, an essential component of modern computers.
It stands as the largest private investment in state history, with officials like U.S. Sen. Charles E. Schumer and Gov.
