30 years after Carol Ryan’s brutal murder, investigators are still working the case

Jamesville, N.Y. — Thirty years after Carol Ryan was brutally murdered in Jamesville, the case remains unsolved.

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office asked the public on Tuesday to continue coming forward with any information that might help investigators determine who killed Ryan and bring closure for her family.

On Sept. 1, 1996, Ryan, 42, of Syracuse, was found severely injured on the side of the road near the Jamesville Reservoir. Someone had detonated an explosive device inside her, according to syracuse.com | The Post-Standard archives…
