SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The New York State Department of Transportation said they plan to partially open up a roundabout running from Almond Street to Van Buren Street before the end of the year.
According to Elizabeth Parmley, Regional Director of the NYSDOT, drivers will be able to drive through Almond to Van Buren in both directions by the end of fall. Parmley said the entire plan for the roundabout will not be fully complete by then, but drivers will at least be able to pass through the area.
The New York State DOT said it’s also nearing completion of two major pieces of the 81 viaduct project.
Contract one, focusing on the Northern interchange, and contract two, focusing on the Southern interchange, are nearing completion, according to Parmley…
