Syracuse, N.Y. — Developer Joe Zavaglia is seeking more than $2 million in tax breaks for a proposed mixed-use building in Solvay that would contain 33 apartments and six storefronts.
Zavaglia has applied to the Onondaga County Industrial Development Agency for a total of $2.3 million in tax exemptions. The breaks would consist of $1.7 million in property tax relief over 12 years, $622,696 in sales tax exemptions on construction materials and a $48,000 state mortgage tax abatement.
