SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Two defendants in the case of a teenager who was shot and killed in Syracuse in 2024 were sentenced in Onondaga County Court on Thursday.
Judge Matthew Doran sentenced Uzziah Murray and Quinntone Moore to 20 years in prison for the killing of 15-year-old Deron McGee Jr. The two of them pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the first degree. They were initially charged with murder.
Murray and Moore were friends of McGee Jr. On Aug. 12, 2024, they, along with Torrin Brown, a third defendant, were in a car when one of the defendants allegedly shot McGee Jr. in the head.
