Construction update on work at Micron in Clay

CLAY, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A major construction project has awarded over $675 million to New York State-based businesses as initial site work progresses. Carson Henry, a project official, is overseeing the construction operations.

The project is prioritizing regional suppliers for building materials. Supplies are being sourced from local facilities, including quarries in Jamesville, to support in-state businesses.

Crews at the northern section of the construction site are currently focused on initial foundation work. Operational drill rigs, visible as black cranes on-site, are driving pilings into the ground to establish the structural base. “As we look north, where you see the drill rigs — which is the black cranes that come out — that is where the fab will go,” Henry said. “So what they’re focused on right now is putting down the pilings that will form the foundation.”…
