Regarding “Palladian Hall at The Treasury: Peek inside Syracuse’s swanky new event space” (Jan. 22, 2024):. I very much appreciate the developers who restored The Treasury to such a magnificent building, including Palladian Hall. However, I believe it is also incumbent on the developers to correct the Euro-Centric history the restored paintings in Palladian Hall depict. One such painting, “The Discovery of Salt by Father Le Moyne – 1654,″ cries out for a correction. Indigenous peoples in the Americas produced salt from natural salt springs hundreds of years prior to the European invasion of this continent.
