Sheriff’s Office says teens stole the Hyundai that they crashed on Summit Ave.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Another crash of another stolen car with young drivers.

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office has revealed it was two teens who stole and crashed a Hyundai car on Summit Ave. Friday night, Jan. 19.

Sheriff Deputies witnessed the Hyundai run a stop sign and hit another car parked in a driveway on Summit Ave. After the crash, the two young suspects ran away until police captured them.

The suspects were a 15-year-old and a 17-year-old who police say stole the car in Strathmore on Thursday night, Jan. 17.

The suspects tried to run away but were caught and released back to their parents.

No one was injured in the house or the vehicle. This continues to be an open and active investigation.
