Competency exam ordered for Syracuse man accused of shooting to death pregnant woman

Syracuse, N.Y. – A man accused of fatally shooting a pregnant woman near downtown Syracuse has been ordered to undergo an exam to determine if he is fit to stand trial. David L. Kirby, 34, was arraigned Thursday on an indictment for second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He is accused of shooting Apreona Harris, 26, in the head at close range, according to the indictment.
