Family of inmate allegedly beaten by deputies intends to sue Onondaga Co. Sheriff’s Office

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Lisa Simmons began getting notifications on social media on Friday, Jan. 26. when strangers were trying to get in touch with her about her son, Ozell Stanley, detained at the Onondaga County Justice Center jail in downtown Syracuse. It’s how she found out that her son is accusing Onondaga County Sheriff’s deputies of physically attacking him in his cell a week earlier.
