Man sets couch on fire that spread to Syracuse home, firefighters say

Syracuse, N.Y. — A man set a couch on fire outside of a Syracuse home Friday, causing the flames to spread to the house, police said. Around 10:41 p.m., officers responded to 452 South Ave. for a report of a fire, according to District Chief Matt Craner, a spokesperson for the Syracuse Fire Department.
