Prepare for freezing rain in New York Wednesday evening

A report from the National Weather Service was issued on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for freezing rain until 8 p.m. for Seneca, Cayuga, Onondaga, Tompkins and Cortland counties. “Patchy freezing rain is possible for areas in elevation higher than 1500 feet through this evening. Motorists should use extra caution and be alert for quickly changing road conditions if traveling through the higher terrain or on back country roads,” states the weather service.
