Democrat drops out of NY-22 primary race after audit reveals he’s short on signatures

Syracuse, N.Y. – Utica University professor Clemmie Harris said Thursday he will be dropping out of the Democratic primary race for New York’s 22nd Congressional district. Harris, 59, of Camillus, said an audit of his petitions’ signatures revealed his campaign fell just short of the 1,250 needed to qualify for the June 25 primary ballot.
