Trumble sisters’ legacies live on by helping CNY Cat Coalition

LIVERPOOL, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Hailey and Shelby Trumble are remembered by their family as creative and kind. The sisters, Hailey, 19 years old and Shelby, 17 years old, were both killed in an Ira car crash on August 1.

To honor the sisters loving and generous spirits the family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the CNY Cat Coalition.

“They have the biggest hearts, and they loved all animals,” the President of the CNY Cat Coalition Rebekah McGraw said.

Although McGraw never met the Trumble sisters, she heard about the sisters’ rescue of two kittens a few weeks ago.

“Those girls were able to find these two kittens on the side of the road and one of them had a severe leg injury,” McGraw said. “Hailey actually traveled with Bandit and our foster that morning, and both girls planned to visit the cats after surgery, but, unfortunately, they never made it home.”

McGraw said the Trumble’s have been involved with CNY Cat Coalition through their aunt who has been fostering cats for a few years. Hailey planned on adopting Bandit and Shelby on saving up to eventually adopt Smokey.
