Syracuse leaders get drenched for ALS awareness

SYRACUSE N.Y. – The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge turns 10 years old this year and Syracuse leaders put their own spin on the challenge to raise funds and awareness for ALS. The ALS Association hosted more than 30 Syracuse political and business leaders on Thursday to get soaked in water at the Clinton Square fountain to demonstrate their commitment to fighting ALS, a neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.
