Syracuse University employees approve new contract, avoid strike

Syracuse University facilities workers voted to ratify a contract with SU on Friday after months of negotiations, avoiding a potential strike. The contract, which members of SEIU Local 200United ratified in a 468-52 vote, offers a 19.9% wage increase over five years, including a 10% raise effective immediately. This is the first time the workers have renegotiated a contract in five years.
