Syracuse’s Crowne Plaza hotel closes suddenly ahead of conversion to apartments

Syracuse, N.Y. – One of Syracuse’s biggest hotels closed abruptly today, several months after its owners announced plans to convert it into an apartment building. The 279-room Crowne Plaza hotel at 701 E. Genesee St. stopped all operations today, according to a message to syracuse.com from a management representative.
