Do you love all things Halloween? Then it might be the perfect time to explore haunted places throughout the Finger Lakes this spooky season.
The Haunted History Trail of New York State highlights over 90 locations throughout the state brimming with paranormal activity. The Finger Lakes region, which in this case stretches east from Rochester to Syracuse all the way down to Owego, has 20 ghostly sites.
“A long timeline of Native American and American history makes this region filled with haunted sites,” the trail’s website says . “A ghostly bride on the roadside, an inn keeper still strolling the grounds with a lantern and a haunted museum on the banks of the Erie Canal can all be found here.”

Where: Cedarvale Road in Syracuse
Why it’s haunted: It’s believed to be haunted by two people who died in a car accident on the road over 60 years ago, according to the trail’s website .
Visitor information: Since it’s a public road, visitors are free to drive along it at any time.
