Syracuse Police: Body found in Onondaga Creek appears to be accidental drowning

Update at 10 a.m. on 11-12-24: Syracuse Police believe that this incident was an accidental drowning related to a possible overdose.

However, the investigation is ongoing.

SYRACUSE N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Syracuse Police were called to the 100 block of Gifford Street for a drowning call on Sunday, November 10.

When police arrived at the scene at around 7:35 a.m., they found a deceased man in Onondaga Creek.

The investigation is active and ongoing.  Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Syracuse Police at (315) 442-5222.
