31-year-old man killed in stabbing Syracuse’s Westside, suspect arrested

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Syracuse police officers were called to a stabbing at the 600 block of Oswego Street in the city’s Westside just before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 13.

When officers arrived, they found 31-year-old Devonte Crosby from Syracuse with a stab wound to his torso.

AMR provided medical aid to Crosby at the scene, but he later died due to his injuries, SPD said.

Just about 10 minutes after police responded to the scene, they arrested 29-year-old Tyler Kilmer from Auburn.

Kilmer was arrested at the scene and is being held at the Onondaga County Justice Center pending his arraignment, according to SPD.

He is charged with:

  • Manslaughter in the first-degree
  • Criminal possession of a weapon in the second-degree
