SYRACUSE, N.Y. – A clothing drive at White Branch Library is bundling up the surrounding Northside community, and getting everyone ready for a very chilly week. Just up the stairs sits piles and piles of clothing, ready to go to deserving neighbors. “The need is high,” said Jackie Bleich, the Branch Manager at White Branch Library. “I mean we have a very large population of homelessness, particularly family homelessness, child poverty, so we want to make sure that those families feel as supported as possible. There are people that want to give their clothes away, they don’t fit them anymore, they don’t want them anymore, and clothes are expensive! Even going to Walmart or Target, they’re just expensive.”
