New York Winter Weather Alert: Winter Storm With Up to 24 Inches of Snow and 50 mph Winds Until Tuesday Night

Buffalo, NY – Western New York is under multiple winter weather alerts as snow, ice, and strong winds are expected to impact the region through late Tuesday night, creating hazardous travel conditions and potential power outages.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, a Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 1 a.m. Monday for areas including Buffalo, Rochester, and Niagara Falls, with snow and sleet accumulations between 4 to 8 inches and ice up to three-tenths of an inch. Winds could gust as high as 50 mph, increasing the risk of downed trees and power lines.

A Winter Storm Watch will follow from late Sunday night through Tuesday night for Oswego, Wayne, and Northern Cayuga counties, where lake effect snow may bring up to 24 inches of accumulation in some areas.
