The United States Department of Justice describes every ‘routine traffic stop’ as dangerous. Officers need to be aware, suspicious and in control of each situation. In other words, there is no such thing as a routine traffic stop.
Over the weekend New York State Troopers had what they thought was a routine traffic stop. What ended up happening was a car chase, foot chase and the eventual arrest of an individual wanted in connection with the discovery of a 29-year-old female victim, who was found bludgeoned to death in a shallow grave on November 8, 2024.
