1000s of Central NYers and their caregivers must act now to keep Medicaid payments flowing

Syracuse, NY — Thousands of Central New Yorkers who rely on home care provided by friends and loved ones must act before April 1 to stay in the Medicaid program.

Their caregivers, known as personal assistants, must also enroll again to keep getting paid.

Across the state, more than a half-million people need to reenroll. Each patient and caregiver are mostly on their own to gather needed medical records, contact the new vendor and go through a lengthy process to make sure they are switched to the new system…
