MARCY, N.Y. — Approximately 10,000 security personnel from the Department of Corrections and Community Supervision are currently working at correctional facilities across New York, while 2,000 have been dismissed due to the wildcat strikes.
In addition, the deployment of 6,000 members of the New York National Guard is underway due to the strikes to maintain safety and security alongside the security and civilian staff.
