Syracuse, NY – A late-evening fire on Sunday, March 9, 2025, sent one man to the hospital and forced multiple residents to evacuate an apartment building on Butternut Street.
At 7:39 p.m., the Onondaga County 911 Center alerted Syracuse firefighters to a structure fire at 1313 Butternut Street. Crews from Station 2 on Lodi Street arrived within three minutes and encountered smoke billowing from multiple windows of the three-story apartment building. Residents were seen exiting the structure as firefighters stretched a hose line to the third floor. Upon confirming an active fire in Apartment 26, the Incident Commander issued a “Signal 99”, indicating a working fire.
