SYRACUSE, N.Y — A large brush fire on the west end of Syracuse drew fire crews to an area just south of the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. The fire burned in a wide area between Grand Avenue and West Onondaga Street Wednesday evening.
The smoke from the fire could be seen for miles.
Earlier this week authorities at the National Weather Service issued a Fire Weather Watch for parts of Central New York, including areas south and east of Syracuse. A statewide burn ban remains in place through the middle of May…
