SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — On March 23rd, rallies took place across the country in support of the U.S. Postal Service, with thousands standing together in spite of privatization efforts.
One of the rallies was held at the Federal Building in Downtown Syracuse, where dozens of carriers, union members, retirees, and local supporters gathered to protect what they believe is the foundation of the American people.
Tom Dlugolenski, a local mail carrier for 25 years, was among those fighting this battle. He explained that privatizing the Postal Service would devastate a vital way Americans get their mail, which is worth $8 trillion, and jeopardize millions of jobs across the country.
“Any privatization efforts would decimate that industry and decimate the middle class,” Dlugolenski said to the crowd…
