Former Sears Building to be site of state’s first workforce innovation hub

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Governor Kathy Hochul announced the selection of the former Sears Building at 1300 South Salina St. to be the future ON-RAMP Workforce Innovation Hub. It will be the first of four in the state.

Governor Hochul said the hub will anchor a broader revitalization site, which is being led by the City of Syracuse and CenterState CEO. Hochul said the site will be a “gateway” for people looking for work as well as manufacturing and construction firms.

The One Network for Regional Advanced Manufacturing Partnerships, or ON-RAMP, program is a $200 million investment that seeks to connect skilled New Yorkers with careers in manufacturing industries…
