Norovirus still making the rounds across CNY region

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The Norovirus, often referred to as the stomach bug, is still making the rounds across the Central New York region.

“Patients will call us with nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps that are lasting longer than a day or two, and most likely it’s the norovirus,” said Jennifer MacBlane, a certified nurse-midwife and nurse practitioner at St. Joseph’s Health Hospital.

The highly contagious virus is something we typically see every year, but MacBlane says this year seems to be more severe.
