‘We had 124 water main breaks’: Syracuse Water Commissioner details grueling winter and efforts to extinguish Maria Regina fire

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — It’s been a busy winter for the City of Syracuse Department of Water.

“Normally, we have about 60 water main breaks in the city. This was an unprecedented winter,” said Commissioner of Water, Robert Brandt. “We haven’t seen one like this in a while. We had 124 water main breaks.”
