Wind advisory in effect tonight in Syracuse

The National Weather Service has issued wind advisories to begin at 5PM tonight and to expire early Thursday morning across central New York.

Wind gusts ranging between 40-50mph could result in downed tree branches and isolated power outages overnight. The strongest gusts look to be across the higher elevations south of the Thruway.

It’s due to a strong low-pressure system that’s currently producing severe weather across the Midwest, will track into New York this evening.
