DA: Criminal charges not expected related to death of custodian at Syracuse charter school

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Criminal charges are not expected to be filed related to the death of a custodian found dead in a charter high school in Syracuse, the Onondaga County District Attorney confirms to NewsChannel 9.

When the Syracuse Fire Department responded to the discovery of the body of Brian Deforge in January in the cafeteria of the Syracuse Academy of Science High School, firefighters found a carbon monoxide leak in the building.

The building was issued eight code violations and was declared unfit for occupancy after an inspection by the City of Syracuse.
