Should police chase stolen cars? Two Central NY departments set opposite policies

Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse police attempted to pull over a stolen car spotted at the Destiny USA mall, but when it fled, the officers didn’t pursue it.

Just moments later, an Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office deputy spotted the same car and chased it a short distance before it crashed into another vehicle on Park Street.
