County refuses to release Micron’s huge impact report. Public record experts say it should: Four months ago, Onondaga County received an early version of a Micron Technology report detailing the massive impact its planned chipmaking complex could have on Central New York. But the county is refusing to release it until June, giving the public little time to review and comment on it before construction starts this fall and raising concerns from two legal experts.

Metallica slays record Syracuse crowd with intensity, hits: It had been been nearly 30 years since Metallica performed in Syracuse, but Saturday night’s concert was well worth the wait. The thrash/heavy metal legends slayed a near-sellout crowd at the JMA Wireless Dome, delivering hits like “Enter Sandman,” “For Whom the Bell Tolls,” “Nothing Else Matters” and “Master of Puppets.” Lead singer and guitar player James Hetfield was joined by drummer Lars Ulrich, bassist Robert Trujillo and guitarist Kirk Hammett.
