Extra firefighters called in for two-alarm apartment fire on Syracuse’s North Side, 17 displaced

Syracuse, N.Y. — Extra firefighters had to be called in for a two-alarm apartment fire on Syracuse’s North Side early Friday morning that displaced 17 people.

At 2:51 a.m., firefighters arrived at 121 Pond St. where they found a three-story apartment building on fire, firefighters said in a news release. The building has five apartments and a store.

Firefighters found thick smoke and fire on the third floor when they entered the building. The residents were alerted to the fire and managed to get out, firefighters said…
