Two Syracuse residents convicted in $1,000 Auburn Wegmans theft

Two individuals from Syracuse have been convicted for their roles in a high-value theft from the Wegmans store in Auburn, Cayuga County District Attorney Brittany Grome Antonacci announced.

Maurice Gaston, 19, and Jasmine Felton, 32, each pleaded guilty to one count of grand larceny in the fourth degree, a Class E felony. The convictions stem from an October 2024 incident in which more than $1,000 worth of merchandise was stolen from the store.

Felton was sentenced in March to six months in jail and five years of probation. Gaston entered his guilty plea on April 29 and faces an indeterminate sentence of one to three years in prison when sentenced in July…
