UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — Just one day after three Marcy Correctional officers decided to take their case to court, another three will join them.
On Wednesday, May 14, four more officers — Michael Mashaw, Michael Fisher, Nicholas Gentile and David Walters — went before Judge Robert Bauer in Oneida County Court to respond to plea deals made by Onondaga County District Attorney Bill Fitzpatrick. Mashaw, Fisher and Walters’ top charge was manslaughter, while Gentile’s was tampering with evidence.
Gentile was the only one of the four to accept his plea deal. His acceptance means that he will receive a one-year conditional discharge, must resign from his job by June 1, and pay a court surcharge of $350 within 30 days.
