The reason for the gloomy weather today is because of an area of low pressure over Maine, dropping a shortwave from the north down into CNY. This will bring cloudy skies by late morning to midday, and scattered rain showers for the afternoon. Plus, cool temperatures in the upper 40s this morning to upper 50s this afternoon.
