The price of eggs fell in April from a record high, but costs for most grocery items in Syracuse.com’s monthly price tracker were up last month.
The nationwide city average price for a dozen eggs in April was about $5.12, down more than 17% from March, when the price per dozen hit an all-time high of $6.23. The price for a dozen eggs is still more than 78% higher than it was a year ago, according to federal data.
