Four shootings on Sunday in Syracuse: Two men were reported shot within about 20 minutes of each other on Sunday evening, one on Park Street and another on Westmoreland Avenue. One, a 22-year-old man died from his injuries, police said.. These incidents marked the third and fourth shootings in the city on Sunday: Police said a man was shot in the leg at about 3:45 a.m., and another man was shot in the back at about 1 p.m.
Murder charge to be dropped against teen: A Syracuse teen initially charged with murder in the April 2024 shooting death of Jesus Carmona is expected to have charges dismissed. Prosecutors now say 17-year-old Jose Romero was not directly involved in the killing. The original co-defendant, Josue Pizarro, 27, still faces murder charges for allegedly shooting Carmona multiple times with two different weapons…
