(WSYR-TV) — She’s been recognized as a trailblazer in forensics by the National Organization of Women, and she was the first female chief medical examiner of Onondaga County.
Now, she’s written a book looking back on her career, exploring the connection between her professional and personal life, sharing the stories of real women in order to effect change. This morning, we welcomed Mary Jumbelic, author of “Speak Her Name,” to Bridge Street.
Mary is a proponent of women’s rights, proud to create visibility as a woman in government, science, and business. Mary’s career spans a quarter of a century, during which she has performed thousands of autopsies and helped to pass national safety policies for consumer products, preventing untimely deaths.
