Syracuse, NY — Common Councilor Chol Majok knows he finished third in Tuesday’s three-way mayoral primary.
But Majok, 40, maintained that his presence on the ballot was a win for refugees, immigrants and other minority communities.
“An opportunity like this is a chance to elevate the voices of the marginalized,” Majok told syracuse.com around 11 p.m. Tuesday, after conceding the Democratic primary to Deputy Mayor Sharon Owens. “It can be tough to go against the establishment.
