Children born today will be driving before Micron construction is complete

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — Children born today will be able to get their driver licenses by the time Micron’s megafab campus in the Town of Clay will be wrapping up construction.

The 20-year timeline has always been part of the plan, but the Draft Environmental Impact Statement released Wednesday, June 26 gives new details about what happens when.

While the campus will be full of smaller buildings, it will be anchored by four chip-making factories, called “fabs,” each with 600,000 square-foot cleanrooms (about 10 football fields-worth)…
