Pat Hogan: ‘I’m not going anywhere’ despite overwhelming Syracuse mayoral primary loss

Syracuse, N.Y. — For Pat Hogan, the second time running for Syracuse mayor seemed different.

Unlike his losing primary campaign against then-Mayor Stephanie Miner in 2013, the common councilor had the official endorsement of the Onondaga County Democratic Committee in this year’s battle for the party’s nomination.

He also built a racially diverse coalition of elected city and state officials backing his effort, a healthy campaign fundraising apparatus and more name recognition after winning three more Syracuse Common Council races from 2019 through 2023 (giving him a total of seven council election victories)…
