Proposed cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) could cause hungry New Yorkers all across the state to lose hundreds of dollars in benefits each month that they rely on to feed their families.
On Friday, Gov. Kathy Hochul released a statement outlining how the federal budget reconciliation bill that Republicans say could save $300 billion in federal expenditures through cuts to SNAP would limit access to the crucial lifeline for hungry families while shifting exorbitant costs to the state.
