The New York State Attorney General’s Office has released body camera footage showing the fatal shooting of Donnell Hogan by Syracuse police on May 13. The footage, made public on Monday (June 30), captures the tense moments when officers encountered Hogan, who was in a wheelchair, at an apartment building on North Townsend Street in Syracuse.
According to the Syracuse.com report, the encounter lasted only a few seconds. The video shows officers responding to reports of gunfire and encountering Hogan, who pointed a gun at them. The officers exchanged gunfire with Hogan, who was struck and later pronounced dead at the hospital. A handgun was recovered from the scene.
